Dropmore Linden is a named, prairie-bred hybrid linden of American Linden and Littleleaf Linden. In Alberta it is an introduced planted tree, not a wild native species. It is most relevant to ARA in established boulevards, parks, campuses, institutional grounds, and older residential landscapes, where a large, documented specimen can represent prairie horticultural history and durable urban canopy. The central identification rule is important: a tree may be a linden and look American-linden-like, but the named 'Dropmore' cultivar requires tree-specific provenance such as a label, inventory, or planting record.

Identification: Leaves are alternate, simple, heart-based, and serrated, confirming the linden group. 'Dropmore' is reported as large-leaved, dark green, and American-linden-like. Inspect several mature sun leaves rather than relying on one unusually large or shaded leaf. Consistently much smaller, more rounded, finely serrated leaves with conspicuous brown hair tufts in lower vein axils favor Littleleaf Linden instead.

Alberta range and habitat: Dropmore Linden has no wild Alberta distribution. It is a cultivated hybrid and should not be treated as a native, naturalized, or wild forest species.
