About this verified tree

This Linden grows on one of the Belgravia Linden Avenues in Edmonton, Alberta. this is one of the largest Linden trees in the province, and the largest measured on the boulevard. It has a substantial trunk that flares out significantly at its base, creating a wide buttressing effect. The bark is deeply furrowed and appears rough, with patches of lichen. The tree's crown is full and wide, with branches reaching outwards. Some lower leaves are notably large, measuring wider than an outstretched hand, while upper leaves are smaller. The tree exhibits signs of an infestation on its lower branches, with leaves showing small, vertical, red or light green growths that cause them to crinkle. Despite this, the tree is considered healthy with few dead branches visible. This Linden avenue is mostly identified at Genus level by the city, and research is being conducted to identify each individual tree.
