About this verified tree

A true beast of an aspen, still holding strong. Similar-sized aspen stumps and standing deadwood—his fallen brethren—are much more common throughout this area. With no standout clonal trunks around, and spruce knocking at heaven's door, I wish this tree the best of luck. I didn’t take an accurate height measurement, but using my knife for scale—12½ inches from the top of the sheath to the bottom of the handle, leaning against the centre of the trunk—and after plenty of research, I’m fairly confident this tree is at least 23 metres tall, possibly closer to 25 metres, which is exceptionally tall for an aspen. - submitter notes
